ic! berlin x GmbH
Limited Edition Capsule
Launch of an exclusive capsule with Berlin fashion trailblazers GmbH
The surprise cameo of Y2K-coded eyewear pieces adorning several of the models’ looks on the runway were selected from our archive and customized in close collaboration between the two design powerhouses. With both brands deeply rooted in the cultural fabric that defines the city of Berlin, joining forces seemed a natural fit and a celebration of authentic Berlin craftsmanship.
With only 320 pieces produced globally, these engineered, performance-driven frames come in bespoke colourways with signature design accents inspired by GmbH’s ‘Desire Paths’ collection and grounded in our iconic stainless steel construction. The collection features two eyewear models aptly named Serhat and Benjamin.
The BENJAMIN frame is bold by design. With its true wrap-around silhouette and base-8 curve, it hugs the face like a second skin while channelling pure Y2K energy. Finished in shiny black and chrome, it’s unapologetically Berlin.
The SERHAT takes cues from the digital pioneers of the late ’90s and early 2000s. Its base-6 wrap-around shape delivers a fast, edgy look that feels equally at home on the street, in the club, or online before the rest of us caught up.
Reflecting on the partnership Gmbh Founders Serhat & Benjamin said:
“As we began looking back at what sparked us to found GmbH a decade ago – and re-visiting our own story – we came across the largely untold fashion history of Berlin. A century ago, it was not a given that Berlin would end up being in the fashion backwaters of Paris or Milan.
Working with a collector, we retraced fragments of this history, and combined it with our own. Contemporary sportswear were shown with items inspired by – as well as actual archival garments – from some of Berlin’s bygone pre-war houses. In the background of rediscovering all the craft that was lost, it was kismet to collaborate with ic! berlin, as one of the few who have revived the idea of craft in our city.”
